摘要

While candidate protein biomarkers can be qualified and validated using Western blots and immunoassays, this requires specific antibodies to each protein. If these antibodies are not readily available and must be developed, the qualification and validation process can become very time consuming and expensive, especially if many candidates need to be validated. A much higher throughput and more universal strategy is needed to narrow the huge number of candidate biomarkers that are being generated by both genomics and proteomics today.
