A flexible and scalable patient's health monitoring system based on the 6LoWPAN is proposed. This system contains wearable sensors for measuring the biomedical signals and the 6LoWPAN devices for data transmission through IPv4/IPv6 network. The 6LoWPAN nodes integrated with wearable sensors are linked to the 6LoWPAN gateway with IEEE 802.15.4 protocol and the 6LoWPAN protocol for monitoring and analysis purpose. The 6LoWPAN gateway provides reliable IPv6 communication to transmit patient's biomedical signals to a doctor or server via the internet. In the server, heart rate variability signals are obtained by signal processing and used for time and frequency domain performance analysis to evaluate and provide the patient's health status. Our approach for the non-invasive and continuous health monitoring system in inter-local communication is managed to process the large amount of biomedical signals through the 6LoWPAN and IP-based network accurately. Patients may comfortably measure their own health status in inter-local coverage area using IPv6 technique.
