Austal Launches Littoral Combat Ship Independence

Austal (Henderson,Australia) announced last month that it had successfully launched its 127-meter littoral combat ship (LCS) Independence.Independence will be moored alongside the Austal USA facility in Mobile,Alabama-,while the activation and testing of combat and other onboard systems are completed.Sea trials are expected to commence late this year,the company said.
