The Royal Institution of Naval Architects in England and QinetiQ (Famborough, England) are introducing an international award, which aims to recognize and encourage scientific and technological innovation in the maritime industry. The award will acknowledge outstanding scientific or technological research in the areas of hydrodynamics, propulsion, structures and material. It will recognize innovations that have the potential to make significant improvements in the design, construction and operation of marine vessels and structures.
