Last month,Transoceanic Cable Ship Co.Inc.(Baltimore,Maryland)announced the signing of a two-year contract extension with the 48 member companies that comprise the consortium of the Atlantic Cable Maintenance and Repair Agreement(ACMA).To ensure immediate response to the maintenance needs of ACMA members,Transoceanic Cable Ship Co.says that it supplies its Reliance-class cable ships with either a Nereus or ST-200-class remotely operated vehicle(ROV).These ROVs are said to be strategically based for optimum response time at the Tyco Telecommunications(Transoceanic Cable Ship Co.'s parent company)cable storage depots in Baltimore;Montevideo,Uruguay;and Curacao,Netherlands Antilles.
