China's state-controlled oil and gas industry is heavily investing in offshore production to meet surging domestic oil demand.Last year's offshore numbers topped out at 215 million barrels,or 14 percent,of total national output,according to top Chinese oil executives.Domestic consumption is expected to double over the next 15 years,from an estimated 6.6 million barrels per day to 13.8 million barrels per day by 2020.
