Two SEALs Receive Posthumous Navy Cross

U.S.Navy Secretary Donald C.Winter presented the Navy Cross-the nation's second-highest military award for valor-to the widows of two sea,air,land (SEAL) soldiers killed in Afghanistan.The recipients were the widow of Petty Officer Second Class Matthew G.Axelson and the widow of Petty Officer Second Class Danny P.Dietz.According to naval officials,Axelson and Dietz were part of a four-man team inserted behind enemy lines June 27,2005,east of Asadabad,Afghanistan,sent to find and kill or capture a key local militia leader.
