PEST CAMPAIGN PROGRAMME OF 2003-04 CONDUCTED BY ALL INDIA COORDINATED RESEARCH PROJECT ON CASHEW O.U.A.T., BHUBANESWAR

摘要

During 2003-04 nineteen numbers of pest campaign programmes were organised in 19 different villages of 10 districts of Orissa . In total 1023 number of cashew farmers including 14 numbers of women and 81 numbers of tribal farmcs participated in the training programme. All the campaign programmes were conducted in farmers cashew field. The farmers were shown the different stages of insect pest, site of egg laying and damage symptom by the pest. The farmers were also made acquainted with the differentnatural enemies of cashew pest. Much emphasis was given to identify the damage symptom and time of occurrence of Tea mosquito bug and Cashew Stem and Root Borer. Farmers were effectively demonstrated regarding preparation of spray solution and spraying by foot sprayer. Also farmers prepare themselves the Boardeux paste and solution. Farmers were demonstrated regarding application of Metarrhizium anisopliae fungus and swabbing operation with coaltar + kerosene at the base of the cashew tree against Cashew Stem and Root Borer. Emphasis was given regarding training of cashew trees against CSRB and also dieback disease.
