Don't Overlook the Sample Data

The national initiative on Ocean Observing Systems(OOSs)is working toward a framework that will provide broad marine data and metadata discovery,exchange and fusion.OOSs are about sharing data.Local systems currently in operation provide a rich data resource for scientific investigators,and the promise of a national system is truly exciting.There will be great value in national or global OOSs in a number of very important areas,not the least of which is climate change.
