摘要

During the last.decade, major efforts have been centred on the development of discontinuously reinforced light metal alloys (aluminium, magnesium and titanium), and with special interest on paniculate reinforcement of aluminium alloys. Actually, commercial 2000,6000 and 7000 matrices reinforced with SiC or AI2O3 particles are available with important increases in specific strength and modulus, which make them potentially useful as structural materials in lightweight applications (aerospace, transport, etc.). However, joining of aluminium matrix composites remains as an unresolved issue which limits the general use of these advanced materials.
