Diffusion coefficient of hydrogen in a castγtitanium aluminide

The room temperature diffusion coefficient ofhydrogen in a cast gamma titanium aluminide with a duplexmicrostructure was determined using an electrochemical methodto be D sub avg =1.14x10 exp -8 cm exp 2 /s. This was comparedwith the value of D sub avg =1.33x10 exp -9 cm exp 2 /s usingmicrohardness measurements. This is similar to the value of Dfor commercially pure polycrystalline titanium reported in literature.
