One Week in September Nationally Dedicated to Marine Technology

Reps. Sam Farr (D-Calif.) and Don Young (R-Alaska) introduced a U.S. House resolution to designate September 22 to 28, 2013 as National Marine Technology Week to recognize the contributions that marine technology has made to the U.S. "The use of marine technology reduces the destruction inflicted by natural disasters, protects fragile ecosystems from environmental damage caused by pollution, and fosters a better understanding of our marine world, all while providing a needed boost to local economies," Farr said.
