Magnetically induced texture development in zinc alloy sheet

摘要

Highly textured Zn-1.1%Al sheet was annealed in a direct-current magnetic field of 25.5 MA/m. Depending on the orientation to the field the texture components strengthened, retained their original intensity or disappeared. The results obtained are interpreted in terms of magnetically induced selective grain growth.
