STX Marine to Design Canadian Flagship

STX Marine Inc. (Vancouver, Canada) was awarded in February a $9.5 million contract to design the Canadian Coast Guard's polar icebreaker, the John G. Diefenbaker.The Canadian Coast Guard will produce the ship's conceptual design, and STX Marine will create a comprehensive design package for Vancouver Shipyards Co. Ltd. (Vancouver), which will build the vessel.
