Inhomogeneous microstructure in highly alloyed cast TiAl-based alloys, caused by microsegregation

摘要

This paper describes the segregation behaviour of two TiAl alloys containing refractory metal additions. This includes the coring of the refractory metal additions in the beta dendrites and the formation of large peritectic alpha_p in the interdendritic liquids. The origin, nature, distribution and processing influence of such inhomogeneity are discussed.
