In the Bible,Proverbs 29:18 states,"Where there is no vision,the people perish."The oft-quoted proverb on the importance of having vision is usually cited,especially in scientific circles,in an esoteric context to suggest that big-thinking and futuristic outlook benefit humanity.However,in recent years we are increasingly looking to this proverb in a more literal sense.Strictly speaking,where we lack vision to see the world around us,we put ourselves in danger.
