AXYS Completes WindSentinel Precommissioning for US Navy

AXYS Technologies Inc. (Sidney, Canada) has completed precommissioning of a WindSentinel platform for the U.S. Navy project to validate an offshore floating lidar wind resource assessment system. AXYS teamed up with Sound & Sea Technology (Lynnwood, Washington) and DNV CL (Hovik, Norway) to secure the contract and supply the system. The lidar underwent an initial six-month testing process overseen by DNV GL in 2013. The WindSentinel is now ready and awaiting the final deployment location to be determined by the Navy.
