The microstructural features and the CRSS ofInconel X-750 have been studied for a mean radius of precipitatesbetween 2.5-80 nm. The coarsening of the gamma '-precipitateswas found to obey the t exp 1/3 law, while the precipitate sizedistributions are broader than the LSW theory prediction. TheCRSS increment due to gamma '-precipitates is in good agreementwith the order hardening theories, yielding values of gamma within0.20< gamma <0.27 J/m exp 2 , all these values are reasonablewhen are compared with the literature data (4,6-8). On the otherhand, we have found that misfit hardening theories yield anoverestimation of the gamma '-precipitates contribution to the CRSS.
