BOEMRE to Prepare an Environmental Assessment for MHK Testing Offshore Florida

BOEMRE took the first steps in May toward issuing a lease that would authorize the testing of equipment designed to use ocean currents offshore Florida to generate electricity on the OCS. Florida Atlantic University applied for a lease to deploy an experimental marine hydrokinetic (MHKi demonstration device, prompting BOEMRE to begin preparing an environmental assessment (EA).
