Currently, there are no wind turbines installed tor large-scale power development offshore U.S. coastlines, but that will not be the case for long, it may seem premature to consider how to use integrity management (IM) to ensure the long-term operational capabilities of wind turbine facilities offshore, but IM works best when it is part of the development process and questions about how to inspect, where to inspect and what to do with inspection data can be answered before units are installed.
