Austal (Henderson, Australia) in May laid the keel for the third joint high-speed vessel (JHSV). The vessel is one of nine 103-meter JHSVs designed by Austal under contract with the U.S. Navy. The keel-laying marks the beginning of final assembly, Austal said. Five modules have been moved from Austal's module manufacturing facility and erected in the final assembly bay in their pre-launch position. The rest will follow over the coming months.
