Determination of the phase transformation zone at a crack tip in a shape memory alloy exhibiting asymmetry between tension and compression

摘要

A new phase transformation zone around a crack tip is proposed for shape memory materials. The present analysis integrates the asymmetry between tension and compression in its yield criterion. A comparison with a previous experimental investigation performed on NiTi alloys is done.
