Recent advances in powder metallurgy technology have led to the development of new superplastic aluminum aUoys[1]. One of the more exciting discoveries is high-strain-rate superplasticity, in which the optimum superplastic strain rate regime is two to four orders of magnitude higher than that for conventional commercial superplastic aluminum alloys, such as 7475 [1-6].
