FDA approves Schering-Plough's new antifungal

The US FDA has approvedScher ing-Plough's triazole antifungal Noxafil (posaconazole) for the prevention of invasive Aspergillus and candida infections in immunocompromised patients 13 years and older.The indication patients with graft-versus-host diseas or those with haematological malignancies and prolonged neutropenia from chemotherapy.
