摘要

In response to a restricted supply of natural gas forDRI production in 2003 ,PT .Krakatau Steel has been ininvestigating the use of coke gas as an alternative Theinvestigation has involved 1) a computer study by the Instituteof Technology Banding and PT .Krakatau Steel ,a coke oven gasreforming using steam to convert it into currently used HYL-IIIreducing has and 2) a laboratory study by PT .Krakatau Steel ofpelletreduction with such a partially oxidised coke oven has .Thelaboratory reduction was carried out in a mini reactor using 500gpellets ,930°C isothermal conditions and for comparison alsothe currently used HYL-III reducing gas .The results that showedcoke oven gas can be treated by steam reforming to produce areducing gas which has the same composition as the current usedHYL-III reducing gas .The second study showed that partiallyoxidised coke oven gas ,with a content of hydrogen and carbonmonoxide of 10% higher than the currently used HYL-IIIreducing gas ,has an opportunity to increase 20% of productionin HYL-III reactor ,with the same quality of product.
