Production of quality steels requires use of low-phosphorus ferromanganese whose availability is limited due to useof raw materials containing high phosphorus for its production. Inthis study, dephosphorisation of liquid high carbon ferromanganesewas carried out at laboratory scale using calcium silicide basedreagents employing different techniques of addition, like directaddition, addition with simultaneous gas bubbling, pneumaticinjection and cored wire addition.
