摘要

Based on the actual corrosion behavior observed in electrical appliances and the inadequacies of the conventional accelerated corrosion tests, which are the salt spray test (SST) and combined cyclic corrosion test (JASO M609-91), a new accelerated corrosion test for electrical appliances called "ACTE" (ACTE: Accelerated Corrosion Test for Electrical appliances) was developed. The ACTE displays a good correlation with corrosion behavior in actual environments. With the ACTE, it is possible to estimate the influence of the amount of deposited sea salt on the corrosion resistance of materials by varying the test conditions. The ACTE makes it possible to appropriately evaluate the corrosion resistance of zinc-coated steel sheets used in electrical appliances, including chromate-free steel sheets.
