Machinex Group (Plessisville, Quebec) has installed two new MRF systems- one in the United States and one in Canada. Pratt Industries installed one new MRF processing system at its corporate headquarters in Conyers, Ga. The plant accepts different grades of paper, plastics, metal, and other materials from municipal and commercial sources, and it can process single-stream, source-separated, and baled recyclables, the company says. The MRF will handle about 10,500 tons of material a month at capacity, including approximately 5,000 tons of paper, which Pratt will consume in its 100-percent recycled paper mill on the site. The facility also can recover certain nonrecyclable materials for a waste-to-energy gasification plant, which is located on the same campus.
