Vietnam's sales of longs for first-half 2013 rise bv 1.5%

Sales of construction long steel products during the first half of this year indicate that demand has improved slightly, Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) vice-chairman and general secretary Dinh Huy Tam said Monday. According to VSA data, sales of longs during January-June rose by 1.5% year-on-year to 2.27 million metric tons. Production during the first half, however, registered a 2.1% fall to 2.26 million mt.
