TAIWAN'S E-UNITED SUBSIDIARIES TO GET SEMIS FROM VIETNAM

Taiwan's E-United Group is planning to supply carbon steel billet and slab from its proposed Vietnamese integrated plant, Guang Lian Steel, to its two of its local subsidiaries. Construction of the plant, to be located in Dung Quat Industrial Parkin Quang Ngai province, central Vietnam will be completed for commercial start-up in end-2010. Billet from Vietnam will be shipped to E-United's 100 percent"owned subsidiary, Yieh Hsing, which is based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and slab to another subsidiary, Lianzhong Stainless Steel Corp, which is based in Guangzhou China. Yieh Hsing operates a rolling mill and annealing/pickling line to produce 200,000 tonnes/yearof carbon and stainless wire rod, whereas Lianzhong currently produces around 500,000 t/y of cold rolled stainless products.
