Brian Kenton can look back on decades of fishing and fisher advocacy. Jenny Haworth tells his story. Brian Kenton, at 72, has had a lifetime working for and in the local fishing industry. His national profile comes from his work with the Federation ofCommercial Fishermen. He was their national president from 1972 to 1 974 and from 1975 to 1977. He was also on the national executive for many years and was a delegate to national conferences from 1964. Much of his fishing was undertaken from the port of Timaru and he ran a very successful company, Kenton's Trawling Ltd.
