Atraceability system that tracks langoustine or scampi (Nephrops norvegicus) from 'boat to plate' is now operational in Scotland Developed and operated by Young's Bluecrest, the UK's largest seafood supplier, the system comprises linked land- and boat-based technologies. Equipment installed on fishing vessels collects and transmits live data via satellite to Young's land-based systems, allowing every batch of langoustine to be tracked; the system shows where and when it was caught, and by which vessel.
