Freezing to the fore at SPE

Tom Wray reports from the eighth Seafood Processing Europe in Brussels, Belgium, where an increasing focus on quality has put freezing equipment in the international spotlight Icelandic company Formax introduced its FB 300 Liquid Ice Mixer, a new generation of liquid ice generators, at this year's Seafood Processing Europe (SPE). Formax, which shared a stand at the show with plate freezer specialist Jackstone Froster (see page 30), with whom it cooperates, describes the FB 300 as 'a revolution in liquid ice production'. Based on a well-known formula of mixing ice and brine, a new computer aided process control provides constant high quality ice production.
