Trex Forms Spanish Joint Venture, Wins Advertising Award

Trex Co. Inc. (Winchester, Va.) is participating in a joint venture-Denplax S.A.-to recycle polyethylene at a new facility in El Ejido, Spain.The new facility is designed to recycle scrap polyethylene generated mostly from agricultural applications, such as plastic that's been used to wrap hay, landscaping plastic, and mulch bags. The plant's cleaning system produces polyethylene that can be used in Trex's Wood-Polymer lumber manufacturing process. Trex estimates that the plant will generate more than 20,000 tons of recycled plastic annually.
