POSCO RATED WORLD MOST ADMIRED STEEL COMPANY

POSCO was rated as the top steel company in FORTUNE magazine's listing of the 'World's Most Admired Companies.' POSCO was also rated third in the category of metal companies, including nonferrous metals. FORTUNE has annually compiled their list of 'World's Most Admired Companies' since 1997. PSOCO, rated second (Arcelor was rated first) among steel companies and their among metal companies in last year's listing, has returned to the top position among steel companies in just two short years. According to the recent issue of FORTUNE magazine, dated Mar. 3, 2003, Hay Group, a US consulting company, surveyed 10,000 presidents, board directors or managers from 345 companies throughout the world. The survey rated companies on the following nine attributes; Globalness, Innovation, Quality of management, Employee talent, Financial soundness, Use of corporate assets, Long-term investment value, Social responsibility, Quality of products and services.
