Chris Carey caught up with Tom Bates, the man who wouldn't give up. Tom Bates farmed a piece of land on the shores of Akaroa Harbour. "It was a rotten farm but I bought it to teach the boys how to work. And now I've got a lawyer in London who can put up a seven wire fence along with the best of them!"
