Sustainable fishing is finally taking hold in Spain, and the world might never be the same. It took some time for the sustainable seafood movement to make it to Spain. Now it has arrived and is set to stay, but challenges still remain to fully integrate eco-man-agement into the Spanish seafood industry. "The biggest challenge has definitely been to change the mindset of skippers and crews who for decades have been exploiting a resource as if it had no limit," said Fernando Lago, export manager at Iberconsa, a Vigo-based fishing, processing and trading company.
