After contending with a three-year moratorium on new marine farm applications and a long and difficult reform process, the aquaculture industry is now focusing on developing a sector strategy to help it achieve its goal of earning 1 billion dollar in2020. While the aquaculture reforms are a done deal and the industry is enthusiastic about its future, it would be an understatement to say they are disappointed with key aspects of the new legislation, in particular the approval process for new marine farm developments.
