'Cheap tuna is a thing of the past,' declared Dr S Subasinghe, Infofish director, on opening the top level Tuna 2008 conference in Bangkok, Thailand, at the end of May. This was the tenth such gathering of the tuna industry, pulling a record 650 delegates from 62 countries, none of whom were surprised by Subasinghe's opening gambit.
