Avery Weigh-Tronix has released the AVS-7 Vehicle Scale Controller, an automated weighing system for unattended truck scale operations. The AVS-7 control console collects driver and weight data using Avery's E1310 indicator/controller technology, which presents weight data on its easy-to-read display and provides multiple databases with 100 available records in each database table. To use the system, a driver stops on the scale and swipes an identification card or manually enters a number and any other requested information. Then the vehicle exits the scale for loading or unloading. Prior to leaving, the driver reweighs the truck. The system prints a ticket with the weight, driver, and truckload data, which the AVS-7's database captures. Each transaction provides gross, tare, and net weights, and the system can weigh sets of axles as the driver enters the scale.
