2016 report of the Native Pinewood Managers visit to Glen Strathfarrar

This year's excursion on 5 May was to Glen Strathfarrar (see Figure 1), one of the largest pinewood remnants, which stretches for over 20km across three different estates - Braulen, Culligran and Struy. The group last visited the site in 1997 and it proved a fascinating return to see how the woodland has developed over that time. However, the regular turnover of pinewood managers means that only three members of the group had attended that meeting - so it was a first visit for most.
