This market report is very similar to my comments of a year ago. There is unsatisfied demand for commercial conifer woodlands leading to rising prices.Wider investor sentiment remains cautious with stock market volatility and currency worries pushingmore money to the "safe havens" of land and trees. The year started with massive interest in two FC woods put to the market in Perthshire. Severe winter weather was no deterrent as investors bid strongly for Easter Bleaton and Kepranich. Bidwells guidedthese at 500K and 1 million, but top bids doubled these figures, equating to 5-6,000/ha for 30-40 year old crops of varying species and quality.
