Small sweet-spot search: Competition is hot to supply next U.S. Navy/Marine Corps small UAS

The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps are preparing to transition away from the contractor-owned Scan-Eagle UAV to a military-run program with a brand-new platform. The competition to win the Small Tactical UAS/Tier II (STUAS/Tier II) contract is expected to be hotly contested. Dozens of interested parties attended an industry day last year to be briefed on the program by the Navy.
