RESPONSE OF GRAPE CUTTINGS (Vitis vinifera L.) TO PLANT GROWTH REGULATORS

A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the response of cuttings of grape to plant growth regulators in spring season of 1999. The treatments tried were at three levels (1500, 2000 and 2500 ppm) of three plant growth regulators viz. IBA, NAA andcombination of IBA+NAA and two cultivars viz. Thompson Seedless and Perlette. The different root forming observations were recorded. Among different treatments combined application of IBA+NAA @ 1500 ppm was found better in most of the rooting characters. The Perlette cultivar gave better response to rooting characters than Thompson Seedless.
