摘要

Vase solution containing Ah (SO_4)_3 extended the vase life of cut flowers of rose cv. Queen Elizabeth. Addition of sucrose (1.5%) synergised the effect of Ah (SO_4)_3 and led to the maximum build up of soluble sugars in the petals. In gladiolus cv. White Prosperity, Ah (SO_4)_3 alone proved ineffective but in combination with sucrose (4%) led to the maximum build up of endogenous sugars in the florets and subsequently was the most effective treatment in increasing vase life and opening of florets.
