SouthGobi says no progress in Chalco bid

Hong Kong-listed coal producer SouthGobi Resources said Tuesday there has been little progress in the takeover bid tabled by Aluminum Corporation of China (Chalco) after the acquisition encountered opposition from the Mongolian government. The takeover plan had made “no appreciable” progress, said Dave Bartel, a Hong Kong-based spokesman for SouthGobi by phone.
