Rio Tinto's Walsh sees Fe prices softening this year

Rio Tinto expects iron ore prices to soften later this year once the impact of supply disruptions caused by severe weather in Western Australia and Brazil wears off. Speaking to analysts and investors in Sydney Tuesday, Rio's head of iron ore, Sam Walsh, said prices had been supported this year by India lifting its export duties, cyclones in the Pilbara and heavy rain in Brazil. He expects the current elevated prices to come off as supply is restored.
