China's domestic ferrous scrap prices have softened by around Yuan 50/mt (8 dollars) in the country's eastern regions over the past few days due to weak sentiment amid the sluggish finished steel market. Currently, market prices for heavy melting scrap (over 6 mm thick) are prevailing at Yuan 3,250-3,350/mt (516-531 dollars) with 17% VAT, Platts Steel Business Briefing learned from local sources.
