The 50:50 joint venture between the two Perth-based companies reunites BC Iron managing director Mike Young with former Fortescue Metals Group executive director Russell Scrimshaw, who is now a non-executive director at Cleveland. Young and Scrimshaw presided over the 50:50 Nullagine iron ore tie-up between BC Iron and Fortescue in 2009, which now produces at around 5 million mt/ year, shipping from the larger miner's Port Hedland facility.
