Merger and acquisitiondeals in the global mining and metalssector reached a 10-year low in 2014,with transactions driven by divestmentsand forced sales in the face of fallingcommodity prices and risk-averse capitalmarkets, business services group EYsaid Wednesday.It was the fourth-consecutive year ofdeclining M&A activity in the sector, withthe number of deals down 23% from 703in 2013 to 544 in 2014 — the lowestsince 2003, EY said.
